We have a joint Local Alcohol Policy with New Plymouth District Council and it’s up for review.
While it’s a joint policy, it also targets local issues on how alcohol is supplied in each district.
The policy aims to create an environment that minimises alcohol related harm in our community. It outlines the requirements for alcohol licensing applications, including locations, trading hours, special licenses, and other conditions related to on-license, off-license and club-licenses.
It’s important we hear from our community to inform any changes to the existing policy.

Hearing and deliberations

Post community consultation, a hearing will be held for anyone who wishes to speak to their submission. Elected Members will then deliberate on the submissions received and make any changes to the draft Policy for final adoption.
Final Policy adopted

Policy will be adopted and come into effect at an agreed date.
