The water main on Craig Street is due for renewal.
The existing 100 mm asbestos cement (AC) pipeline has reached the end of its service life and is no longer fit for purpose. To improve reliability and reduce the risk of future failures, the main will be fully renewed with modern infrastructure designed for long-term performance and durability.
When is the work happening?
Construction on the replacement will start in September and is expected to be completed by the end of October 2025 (weather permitting).
Work will take place Monday to Friday, 7.00am – 6:00pm.
What residents can expect:
Temporary water shutdowns will be required. Property owners will receive at least 48 hours’ notice before any planned shutdown. Most will last only a few hours.
Pedestrian access will be maintained. Vehicle access may be restricted at times, but our team will work with you to minimise disruption.
Lane closures and traffic controls may be in place during construction. Any temporary closures will be clearly communicated.
Safety is our top priority. Please follow signage and directions at all times.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while this essential work is carried out to improve our water infrastructure.
